Children’s Books for Black History Month

Honoring Black History month by updating our book shelves!

One of my favorite ways to educate my littles is through books. While I strive to have a variety of diverse books on their shelves all year round, this month I wanted to fill our shelves with books to facilitate further education for Black History Month. Some of these books we already had and I requested a bunch from our library! We still have more on the way from the library and Amazon to add to the collection.

Here are the books we have displayed:

Equality Calls

One Word from Sophia

Ella Fitzgerald

The Power of her Pen

Whistle for Willie (my 3.5 year old's favorite)

Love is Powerful

Parker Looks Up

I Believe I Can

Little Leaders (my 9 year old's favorite)

Tar Beach

Last Stop on Market Street

Please Baby Please (my 16 month old's favorite)

Here are the books on the way:

My Rainy Day Rocket Ship

Please, Puppy, Please

Wilma Rudolph

Julián Is A Mermaid

Mae Among the Stars

Never Caught, the Story of Ona Judge

Harriet Tubman

Jabari Jumps

Jabari Tries

Antiracist Baby
