These new parents are excited to welcome a full-time nanny to their family. Their son is currently five months old. He likes tummy time and movement, going outside for walks, talking, singing, new textures and sounds. He currently has 3 naps a day, totaling about 3 hours total daytime sleep. The parents have recently worked with doulas and infant care specialists. The parents generally try to keep naps and wake windows somewhat consistent and follow their son’s sleepy cues. They also try to get outside at least once a day, (often 2-3 times when the weather is nice). At this stage, they kind of go with the flow and try to balance both new and unfamiliar experiences for their son. They enjoy going out for a meal or to walk around the neighborhood, to expose him to new environments and people. The parents describe themselves as a pretty easygoing family. They respect that the nanny is their own person, with a life and priorities of their own, so they can be flexible if they need to sometimes adjust schedules to work around things that are important to the nanny (appointments, vacations, etc.). Both parents are self-employed and don’t keep traditional work hours, so the support they’re looking for requires atypical hours. Mom works during the morning/early afternoon and has some work calls in the late evening. Dad works during the afternoon/evening/night. Their ideal nanny would be a good communicator with a positive, thoughtful, warm, and calm personality. They would be organized, timely, and detail-oriented problem solver. Childcare is the primary responsibility for the nanny, but it would be wonderful to have them take on some household assistant-type duties – some dishes/cleaning, light vacuuming, organizing an area of the pantry, watering plants, taking out garbage/compost/recycling when full, etc. They would not necessarily be wholly responsible for these tasks indefinitely, but it would be great to have someone who is able and willing to help with those things. Wage will reflect the scope of responsibilities. Responsibilities include: childcare, children’s laundry and light housekeeping related to child.
